Two people are dead and three children were injured when their vehicle was struck by a train Wednesday afternoon. Officials say that the car was crossing the tracks near Fern Lake Road in Clark County, when it was struck by a train on the passenger’s side. The driver, Amber Smith, 23, of Terre Haute and Rodney Mayer, 23, of Martinsville in the passenger seat were both killed. There is no confirmation as to why the accident occurred.
