GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Tuesday could be even hotter than Monday in Wisconsin.

Forecasters say it will get close to 100 degrees in the southwest.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for southern and west central Wisconsin for Tuesday afternoon and into the evening. Highs are predicted to be in the upper 80’s to upper 90’s under partly sunny skies.

The hot and humid weather may cause heat related health problems for anyone without air conditioning or people working outside. Very young people, the elderly and those on certain medications are especially vulnerable.

But it’s supposed to be much cooler near Lake Superior in the far north.

There’s a chance of rain Tuesday night in the northeast, but it won’t cool things off too much. Lows are expected to be in the 70’s in most of the Badger State.

Milwaukee and Madison both had record highs of 94 Monday. Milwaukee broke a record set in 1925. Madison tied a mark set in 1952.

Most of the southern half of Wisconsin had hailstorms Monday. A 4 inch ball of ice was picked up a mile south of Reedsburg. The hail damaged vehicles in a number of communities.

A strong cold front is due in Wednesday, and more severe storms are possible then. It’s supposed to get much cooler and less humid on Thursday.
