TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WIBQ) - The search is on to identify young Hoosiers in grades 5-12 who have made meaningful contributions to their communities over the past 12 months, as the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards kicks off its 16th year. The awards are presented nationwide by Prudential Financial, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Participating schools and local organizations will select Local Honorees in early November. The top two candidates will be named in February. They receive $1,000 in awards, engraved silver medallions, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for recognition events in April.
