INDIANAPOLIS (WIBQ) - Hoosiers may soon be able to buy ice cold beer at gas stations, convenience stores and grocers. Currently, only Liquor stores can sell cold beer in Indiana and a retailers group says the law discriminates against retail outlets and they want to change it. Liquor stores worry that sales would slip if more stores could sell cold beer. But, owners of other establishments that can only sell warm beer say it's unfair competition. Supporters of changing liquor laws say it would encourage people to buy cold beer and drink at home.

The group also calls the moratorium against Sunday sales unfair to retailers since bars and restaurants can sell alcoholic products on Sunday claiming that Indiana gives millions of dollars to other neighboring states who do sell alcohol on Sunday. Organizers of "Change It Indiana" have launched a web site and claim that over 51,000 people have signed a petition for change and almost 10,000 messages have been sent to state lawmakers The group's website is: www.changeitindiana.org
