EDMONTON, ALBERTA (WKZO) -- While most folks are enjoying the fall feast on Thanksgiving, Enbridge Energy control room staff in Edmonton, Alberta will be firing up the pumps on the 6-B pipeline, restoring the flow of oil to refineries in Sarnia and making money again.
Corrosion was discovered on the pipes in Ingham County, Michigan, and the pipeline was shut down last week. It has since been repaired. The aim: to prevent a repeat of the huge oil spill in Calhoun County.
The crew in Edmonton will not be getting holiday pay, since Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in early October.
